In many ways this may feel like the winter that wasn't so far, but there are still fun ways to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. The above normal temps mean you might actually enjoy some of these activities more because you won't be shivering.

Ice Skating:

While the temps have not made as much ice as we would normally have this time of year, you can still enjoy some area ice rinks. The lack of snow has also made it possible to still enjoy wild skating on ponds and some area lakes. Bring your own skates or rent a pair from Chequamegon Adventure Company

Snowshoeing & Hiking:

If the conditions aren't your ideal for skiing, you will still be able to enjoy the stillness of the winter woods by exploring the area snowshoe trails. Some of the trails are even accessible to hike right now.

Fat Tire Biking:

Embrace the adventure and unlock your full potential with a fat bike! With its oversized tires, you'll experience improved traction on any terrain, from dirt to snow. Check out the area zipline trails. Bike rentals are available at BJ's Sportshop and Chequamegon Adventure Company

Ice Fishing:

The ice is not safe to drive on but you can carry your gear to great, easy-to-access spots. Grab some bait at Rollie & Helen's Musky Shop or Kurt's Island Sport Shop and start catching some fish. Make sure you have safety gear with you like ice picks, float suit, or life preservers if venturing out onto unknown or bigger lakes.
